But do we know why? Is it just because we want to have a long weekend to grill back ribs and party with family and friends? While that's a part of it, the main purpose of Labor Day is to honor the work and sacrifices of the labor movements, which gave birth to labor unionism in America. The celebration that follows their victorious campaign to improve wages and working conditions in the workplace is the reason behind the grilling portion. The improved wages, medical and dental insurance, leave of absence in the form of maternity, and paid days off are all part of the employment benefits we enjoy today. So, as we enjoy our long weekend, let's not forget why we are celebrating. Let's honor the labor movements and their contributions to our society. And let's also be mindful of the ong...

(ZAI)   Virginia Beach, Virginia __________________________________________________________________________ ZAI is alive and well!     Variety of home-cooked delicacies – enjoy!  Sunday, July 31, 2022 – Was a  refreshing day for the Zambales Association as they held their first gathering after long unproductive periods of the pandemic. The elbow greetings that became common were familiar signs of the day. It was the first sign of life as friends and relatives arrived at the picnic area. Their friendly faces were not so regular anymore. Some members had grown healthy with wider waistlines. At the same time, others lose weight and do many more athletics. But we all have slight traces of gray hairs, making us look more mature. One thing is sure: there is no escape from aging. We are all aged and look beautiful and intelligent.
