Ben was born on November 3, 1928 to the late Arsenio Villanueva and the late Sylvestra Guzman Villanueva in Abra, Ilocus Sur, Philippines.

Ben will be remembered as a spontaneous person who would often break out into song at any time: at doctor's clinics, banks, the dentist's office, and even in the emergency room after injuring his shoulder! He also enjoyed writing songs as well as poetry.

Ben and his wife Lydia were pioneers in the Filipino community. They were pioneer members of the United Ilocano Association of Tidewater (UIAT), of which Ben served as one of its Presidents, and the Council of United Filipino Organizations of Tidewater. Additionally, he was a proud member of the Fil-Am Vets of Hampton Roads.

Mariano Selorio Acevedo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He went with God on February 02, 2021.

Mariano was born on 3 Oct 1930 in Cebu, the Philippines to Mariano and Oliva Acevedo. He and his wife Nelia were married for 60 years and spent every day together. He was a proud and dedicated father and grandfather.

As the oldest of nine children, he took it upon himself to look after his family in the Philippines.

He often spoke about his love for the US Navy and US Marine Corps, which gave his family new opportunities in the United States. He served 20 years as a Navy Corpsman and earned the Navy and Marine Corps Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal with valor while serving in Vietnam from 16 Jan 1968 to 03 Jan 1969. He rarely discussed his tour, but his Vietnam Veterans baseball cap adorned his head nearly everywhere he went.
